Point Pleasant Beach

Point Pleasant Beach is an oceanfront haven for visitors and residents with its mile-long white sandy beaches, boardwalk, diverse fishing, surf, and historic downtown. The landmark boardwalk features arcades, rides, Jenkinson’s Aquarium, miniature golf, waterfront dining, entertainment, and fireworks. The northern end of the boardwalk borders the Manasquan Inlet which divides Point Pleasant Beach from the town of Manasquan and connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Manasquan River. The Manasquan River harbors commercial fishing boats, deep sea fishing charters and the River Belle paddle boat. Dockside you will find local fishermen and lobstermen unloading their daily catch, later to be served at restaurants and markets along Channel and Inlet Drives.

The historic downtown thrives year-round with unique shops, restaurants and eateries plus an antique pavilion, brewery, and comedy club. Since 1975, the popular Festival of the Sea is held every September on both Arnold and Bay Avenues. Next to the downtown and the Manasquan River is the highly sought-after neighborhood dubbed the library section, a tribute to its vintage library dating back to 1894.

There are three lakes to enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing in Point Pleasant Beach. Lake Louise is the only reservoir that merges with the Manasquan River and allows powerboats. Little Silver Lake lies mainly between Arnold and Trenton Avenues and is close to the boardwalk. For those who desire a more tranquil location, Lake of the Lilies is on the southern end of town. Residents surrounding Lake of the Lilies can join the Elizabeth-Carter Beach Association or access the beach at Bradshaw’s. South end communities with private beach privileges include Bay Pointe Dunes and Bay Head Pointe.
