Bay Head
Bay Head remains a premier location for visitors and residents alike to relax in a quaint, timeless village by the sea. There is no commercial boardwalk along the beach of Bay Head which presents a tranquil setting for surfing, bathing, and fishing. Bay Head’s historic district is architecturally significant for its well-preserved Queen Anne Victorian and Shingle style structures. Waterfront homes can be acquired facing the Atlantic Ocean or along the Barnegat Bay.
The picturesque town center is comprised of cedar shake shops and restaurants bordering Twilight Lake where you can launch a kayak, bird watch or observe amazing evening sunsets. Scow Ditch connects Twilight Lake to the Barnegat Bay and is another area to discover unique shops, galleries, and nearby restaurants. On the northernmost point of the Barnegat Bay is the Bay Head Yacht Club. This private club was established over a century ago and today has nearly one hundred sailboats in their sailing fleet. The Bay Head train station is the last stop on the North Jersey Coast Line before returning north to Penn Station Newark, Hoboken Terminal, and Penn Station New York in Midtown Manhattan.
